Why do Compact crevice tools & upholstery nozzles shrink over time? Or have they always been that way even when they (original vtg Compact tools) were new?

How can I make the tools fit the hose handle or wand like they really should? I had 2 buy new crevice & upholstery tools bcuz the original ones dont fit the Compact hose

Even the clear glitter grill guard wont fit the upholstery tool

I haven't had this problem with the brand new genuine Compact/Tristar crevice or upholstery tools; or the clear glitter dusting brush (thank God the brush body is made of soft rubber & the bristles are soft horsehair). I did not buy a brand new dusting brush bcuz I got 'turned off' by the brush body being black instead of clear, aqua or white like the original tools being clear glitter

This is because original genuine Compact hose ends and wands are NOT true 1 1/4 inch! they are slightly larger in diameter! Ever notice why the Eureka style PN's have an adapter piece at the bottom of the wand? That''s why! They are "stepped-up" from 1 1/4 to Compact diameter! I can't talk about the aftermarket hoses or wands of today and the fit as I'm no longer using Compacts as my daily driver. Hello Numatic!

Yes the hose is a tad bigger than 1 -1/4 your so lucky to have the gold tools all  i  have is clear .Not sure what to do about the fit mine go  on easy.

But if you use the original wands and hose the tools will fit properly .Some3 might strink over time due to being soft rubber like material .Now the Compact has a hose bigger than a 1-1/4 diameter .You can only put the tools on the compact hose and wands that are compact fora proper fit check that first .Source- own a Compact C9 .

Hey

Personally there expensive but with an adapter it's going to look funky. I have seen on eBay I'd buy oem. I have Electrolux attachments and I'm going to be piecing oem branded parts. I have clear glitter ones but metal compact c9 metal I'm going to try to get compact interstates original attamements. I use mine all the time. I listened to compactc9guy and I'll be damned I don't have oem. I'm using old ones but to me oem vacuum is oem. It's like my d80. I can use newer Kirby hose but as a collector and just my preference is what came out of the factory with is how I want my vacuums.
Buy slowly use bastard ones but piece together originals.

I have all the genuine compact/tristar hose, wands & tools but i had to buy new genuine crevice tool & upholstery nozzle (the hose end of crevice tool shrunk worse than the hose end of upholstery nozzle)

I didnt buy anything generic for my compact c9 (other than the main unit switch, pn motor & belts)

Fortunately all attachments came with the vac including the metal rug tool & 'rug shoe adaptor' (clear 'shoe' converter that gos under metal floor brush bottom)

I prefer the old clear/glitter crevice tool bcuz it doesnt have the three holes on its tip like the new one does

Hey

I have the glitter clear attamements I believe but all metal are Electrolux tools. I looked on eBay the cyclone was over $100. I may take a good while to find and afford.

Compact tools and hoses...

Les! Where to you get the idea that Compact metal tools are from Electrolux?

Antione! Explain about Compact hoses being larger than 1 1/4" in diameter.

You guys make these statements that need backing up!

YOU SAID IT YOUR SELF and quote :
This is because original genuine Compact hose ends and wands are NOT true 1 1/4 inch! they are slightly larger in diameter.Luxguy..........

sounds familiar you have little memory i find mr .
He is mix up in his tools.
And i know for a fact that Eureka and Compact are not the same size look at the power head they use and adapter ive use many vacuum altho im only 28 i use to sell lux and other machine in a second hand store for many many years ok .now tell me if im wrong again .I find you have little memory mr lux.
NOw the hose of compact is not a true 1- 1/4 indeed , you said it your self and come at me ahha you make me laugh truly now back to Business .....
Indeed Compact Interstate Electra C9 C8 C7 is slightly larger diameter than a hose on a lux or eureka thus the need for a adapter to use the eureka re badge power nozzle .The tools do become smaller because of the material are made out of but should fit on genuine compact wands witch are made to fit the tools and hose of the machine .Ive use anything from eureka compact tristar jc penny Kirby Filter Queen Kenmroe , aerus and even rainbow in my 28 years of life. I even try to get in Aerus dealer my self as a seller man but my partner retired and close his business so that fell tru. But make no mistake i have restored and use many many vacuums in my time and im not done yet.....
And one more thing , i use to detail cars i n a car dealer ship and vacuum them clean as a whistle so i know my way around vintage machine look at my youtube channel alll of my machine are in true vintage NIB condition so ya thats that .But yes the hose on a compact is not a true 1 -1/4 hose its actually bigger in size needing a step down adapter to use the power head not the case on teh CS but Electra series yes many other collector would agree including you since i can read u p and see what you wrote ............happy vacuuming MR[this post was last edited: 1/22/2019-21:49]

Hey

You lack short term memory or just read partal threads.
The pics of manual and my attachments for c9 looked almost identical to compact. I looked closer and compactguy9 made me aware of my false pretense. The tools are very similar but there not.
I also posted a thread a couple days ago going over whole situation.
Just in case.
Did you hear we got someone to copy the manual. It was awesome. Oh wait wait a second I think you posted it. I forgot my bad.
No pun intended pardon my sense of sarcasm I'm not self employed so I spend late hours after my job at a fortune 500 company with benefits.
My college education helped that a little.
I also know how to run a business. I'm starting to make money selling fixed up vacuums. Maybe one day I can get there.
Oh nm I think I'm confident that I can do well at alot of things.
It could be a pump I used to over inflate my ego.
Wait.

The larger tools are for the tristar a101 (exl, mg1, mg2, mg3 & cs) black color

The clear/glitter tools are 1¼" diameter (when crevice tool & upholstery nozzle are new)

The reason why eureka pn has a adaptor is bcuz the button lock on wand is a bit further away from wand end; & button lock on adaptor closer to end of adaptor
