My goal for this project is to bring focus to the incredible beauty and engineering of these machines.  I show attachment combinations that made vacuuming fun that day!

Composition 1

1955 Electrolux Model E
2018 10 Foot Hose
2016 Dyson Combination Tool

Many thanks to the amazing and generous Tom Gasko for bestowing me with these stunning examples of Electrolux vintage simplicity, power and elegance that I will be showing off in the coming months.

Tonight I had a blast vacuuming with this machine in combination with modern Dyson tools to clean my ceiling fan and just general dusting.

The modern tools, the long hose and the power of this beauty made the work fun and easy.  This one really was wonderful to use tonight with all it's polished aluminum and mid-century Industrial  appearance.  The motor sound is exquisite.

1983 Electrolux Silverado Deluxe

2018  Generic Super J hose OEM grade

1979 Electrolux PN4

Ridiculously gorgeous PN4 courtesy of Tom Gasko.

I just bought my first area rug in years.   All wool pile that I vacuumed the hell out of upon unwrapping!

It's was a thrill using this combination!  Shiny,  classy,  and I felt very Angie Dickinson-esque!

Soliloquy; form 1205.

1972 Electrolux Model 1205 donated to my collection by Mr. Tom Gasko.

It's one of those machines kept in such rare condition that it's bearings seem like they must have when it was first out of it's box, and it easily rolls and reverse rolls almost effortlessly.  I wish everyone could experience it in that condition, it almost develops a personality of it's own!

Sometimes, when I'm finished vacuuming with a classic, I usually let is sit a minute for the motor to cool before rewinding the cord.  It caught my eye this evening  from this rear angled view and my eye followed the lines more and saw what a piece of art it is as well as fun to use.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

Bill

Hey Bill,

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

You have such a unique way of viewing your vacuums.
Very cool!
I appreciate the style and workmanship in older machines, but I've never thought of them in terms of art!

Keep up the good work!

Barry

Thanks Tom!

I wish every Vacuum collector,  enthusiast,  and all their family and friends all over the world would go to visit your collection someday.

There is no better.

I could spend weeks memorializing your gorgeous machines into a photo extravaganza!

This post just made me think.. If someone hasn't written a book yet called The Encyclopedia of Vintage Vacuum Cleaners... Someone needs to get on that before I grow old and die.

Hey

I applaud your vacuums. I'll be blunt you made ugly vacuums look good. I'm not a fan of any of the vacuums but your style and pics are amazing and they are beautiful.
It's a different approach but you are artistic and very creative.
Les
