Eureka/Lux canister...

Yes, I have a lovely little Eureka canister for which I have only the powered hose and no other tools. I found that it uses the same two-prong electrical connectors for the power nozzle as does an Electrolux canister so I can attach an Electrolux 1205 wand (the one with the pigtail connector at the top) and use any of my Electrolux power nozzles. That said, it's a shame the two brands didn't use the same mechanical wand and tool connections. For better or worse, I had to bend the little lock button in on the hose handle so that it does not interfere with the wand's release tab. The first time I tried them together, they got stuck and I almost couldn't get them apart. I subsequently tried to wedge a piece of card stock between the button and its hole but I ended up bending it so much in the process that it no longer sits flush in its hole. While that solves the problem for using it with Electrolux tools, I suppose it might be problematic in the event that I ever find some Eureka wands or tools for it that require the lock button mechanism. But for now, I just count it as a necessary modification to expand its functionality by enabling me to use almost my full assortment of Electrolux and Kirby tools with it.

Yeah, I've always had a soft spot for that little Eureka. It's small but it's a regular dirt-suckin' beast. I bought it several years ago at a thrift shop for $10 because it reminded me of a Eureka Princess I once had that my (now ex-) wife made me get rid of. It's one of the many reasons I later got rid of her. Don't worry, she's still alive; she's just not part of my life anymore. After I took those photos this afternoon, I went ahead and vacuumed my living room with it. It was the first time I'd paired it with that Electrolux PN2. I just thought it looked better for the photo but it's a real beast with its brand new brush roll. I usually run the Eureka with a scarred-up gray PN4A that I've been tempted for a while to repaint to match the Eureka. Of course, I keep hoping one day to be able to pair the machine up with its proper Eureka accessories. We'll just have to see what happens...

I have

I used a Panasonic reversing power nozzle with my Electrolux model AF. The Panasonic canister I had gotten off the trash and the canister had a bad motor but the power nozzle worked fine and I thought it was unique with its reversing brush roll so I decided to pair it up with the Electrolux so I could enjoy it.

I have used the Electrolux’s combination rug snd floor room on other brands such as shop vac and A Filtex central vac and even a shark rocket with an adapter! I really like this tool so I enjoy it with other brands.

I once fitted a Hoover porta power canister with a power nozzle port and then used an Electrolux PN-1 with it. Worked well to upgrade the little canister with a power nozzle for better cleaning ability.
