Vacuum Choices @ Goodwill

Might go back to Goodwill tomorrow to return something I bought. Their vacuum selection is not much, but was thinking about going back to rescue a vacuum that I passed on yesterday.

Assuming nobody bought any since yesterday, this is what they have:

1. Eureka The Boss ESP (black hood no headlight model)

2. Electrolux Upright - possibly an EPIC series but it weirdly did not have a logo on it - was blue bottom and grayish top half.

3. Oreck 40th Anniversary Edition XL2 - all white

I only have a $20 bill in my wallet so I can only pick one. Which one should I go for?

All the vacs were still there, but I didn't get any of them today. But there is a 40% off sale coming up on saturday so I will see if the Eureka is still there this weekend and will grab it then if it is.

Get

The Electrolux if it's similar to the hospital lux uprights.
The eureka isn't bad and the oreck will fluff your rugs.
Eureka is going to likely be the best carpet cleaner.

Boss ESP - I assume that is the F&G style, not the Bravo style. Is the hood more rounded, or does it have a flat spot on top? That will help determine the age.
Personally, I'd save my money until something better comes in, but out of the 3, I think the Electrolux would be the best deal.

I would definitely go with the Electrolux upright, if you don't already have one. I find mine to be well-designed, versatile machines, long on function and performance, while short on unnecessary gimmickry.

Just an update to the thread - the first trip I passed on the Eureka ESP because they had a Sanitaire upright and a Kirby there - so gotta go after those two of course.

I went back again today and the Oreck and Electrolux were still there. The Eureka ESP was still there too but someone had tore the hell out of it since I last saw it. I have no idea what they did to it but the cord was all wadded up and the rubber bumper trim was totally torn off and just laying on the floor. I might check back in on Monday and see if the blue tags are on sale for 75% off. If so, I might get it then. It's not worth $14.99 now since someone mangled it up.

I looked at the Electrolux again and noticed it had a 3 position slide switch that my other Elextrolux Epic upright does not have. It was cheaper than the Eureka ESP ($9.99 vs. $14.99) so I got it. Plus 40% off. Probably was only a couple bucks.

I noticed it says 3000 SR on the logo. I believe mine I have had for years already is the 3500 SR. Not sure what the difference is between them from a technical aspect. There is a couple tiny pinholes in the bellows tube but I think some Flex Seal might take care of that since it's such a tiny hole.

The machines themselves are likely identical. The model number could signify the channel through which it was sold (retail vs. dealer) or whether it included accessories (one sold with a tool kit and one didn't). I didn't get any accessories with my SR3500 but it does have the electrical connection for a SideKick. I wonder if that might have been omitted from the SR3000. Just brainstormin'...

I will have to check mine. Not sure where the electrical goes on these, I don't have toolkits for them.

I was at Goodwill again today (had to go back because they had the rare filter size for my furnace air filter) and I saved the Oreck because why not. $8 bucks. The Eureka ESP is still there with the $14.99 tag and the rubber trim hanging off the hood. Someone untangled the cord and looped it around the handle. If blue tags come up on sale this weekend for 75% off I think I'll grab it. The rubber trim I think just popped out of the socket and rivet but I didn't look that close.
