Vac question

I bought this vac awhile ago and I'm trying to clean it up and I'm wondering if it would be safe to use nail polish remover to remove some paint stuck on the rubber Furniture guard on my Hoover convertible.

I use....

Plain, clear, unscented Hand Sanitizer. I works like a charm every time. I is because it has a high rubbing alcohol content, but it is easy to control and work with. It doesn't soak into your rag and keep evaporating like the rubbing alcohol does.

Denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner. Lacquer thinner is good for rubber bumpers, but will strip paint and eat plastic.
