UV-C disinfection lamps

Has anyone used a UV-C lamp for disinfecting common items?

How good do they work, especially killing disinfectant-resistant microbes like MRSA & COVID-19?

Can a UV-C lamp (one of the really large ones) kill germs floating in the air inside your home or inside a public place?

I only have 2 hand-held UV-C lamps (1 battery powered for the car & the other for around the house) but I can't tell if these UV-C lamps really work

yes, they work

The ones I use go in to a regular socket so you can use them in several ways. You could get a light socket with a cord and put one of these bulbs in to it, then hold it over a surface. I've done this with shoes that didn't smell too good, about 30 seconds and the smell is gone. You could also put several of them in to a ceiling fixture and they would probably disinfect a room. These will also create ozone.

You can get kits with the UVC lamps in them that are put into your HVAC system.Aerus has them.I have their portable air purifierss that have the UVC bulbs-work GREAT-and the UV light will destroy bacteria,thir spores and viruses.Hospitals use these bulbs in their HVAC systems and also have large portable roll around units that can disinfect rooms-such as operating rooms and their equipment.You put the unit in the room-turn it on and leave for several minutes.Suggesting the UV bulbs for return air ducts for the HVAC system at the Tx plant.Most HVAC contractors can put the UVC lamp systems in commercial-institutional HVAC systems.

Beware the LED ones, most are fake. UVC LEDs are stupid expensive to manufacture, so unless you paid a lot for it, it's probably quackery. The glass-looking bulbs are the real deal. (They're actually quartz glass, because regular glass blocks UVC.)

Be cautious using them, though. They will give you sunburn quickly. That includes the skin on your eyeballs. Mind, you won't know you got sunburn until the next day.

Regular borosilcate glass-what most lamps are made from block UVB(tanning)and C(germicidal)But pass UVA long wave-"black light" if the bulb is Woods glass or fixture equipped with Woods glass filter.

It's better to just live with germs, you go around killing every germs you see you ruin your immunity to germs and you end up getting sicker way faster. It's part of the reason why it spread so quickly, too many people are germophobic and ended up making themselves more susceptible to it as they have no resistance.

Polio lamps

According to Robert, our esteemed host, he has washing machines with Polio lamps in them that help prevent polio.
He says he's never had Polio so obviously they work.

Polio is a virus-so the UVC lamps will destroy it.Turn them into submicroscopic peices of protein!No longer dangerous.
