Its the 'tub'type in dark orange plastic with the base of some kind of plate metal. 600 watts.

It really 'rasps' when it comes to a final stop, obviously dry bearing(s)

Can anybody tell me if the motor was the 'sealed unit' type or the earlier 'non- sealed' version which to my knowledge was last fitted into the UK Lux model 310.

I know that the Blue Trident tub appeared circa 1974 but did the Volta come earlier or later?

Regards, Walter.

I think it is made later than 1975 if it is with yellow plastic hose. This model introduced 1973. The first models were with fabric hose. I am quite sure that the motor is very difficult to get open.

what a dream!

As far as I know the top-fill Voltas were also sold as Trident, Elektro Helios, privileg (in Germany, the Quelle catalog warehouse relabelled them to their needs), as Viking and even as Electrolux.

A great drawing that you posted there, Markus! Are you the one with this wonderful amber coloured Elektro Helios on youtube? What a dream, I've been looking for one of those Voltas for years! Congratulations, you are lucky as a bear finding a honey pot!

How I wish to find one of those.
Cheers,
Joe

Yes, I am the same guy. These Elektrohelios vacuums were most sold vacuums in 1970´s in Finland. I have been looking a red U204 but it´s very difficult to find nowadays. It´s the last model from 1981. Who is this swiss collector, I like these vacuums a lot.

This yellow model U203 is made only for finnish markets.

hey Markus, welcome!

Thanks for answering to this.

Meanwhile: I do not know who this Swiss guy is, he seems to be collecting on Google ads and similar stuff, his website tells us of "being in the process of being completed" but nothing has happened so far (for years now that is).
The links he is showing merely point to some paper filter bags sites, they sell filters and he is getting money for the clicks. Not a serious collector to me if you want to know it frankly.

Yet again: Your yellow U-something Volta / Elektro Helios is really a marvellous thing. To me they look like the predecessor of modern Nilfisk Extreme vacs (having a similar setup as the Nilfisk King (Austria's name) or the Nilfisk Gewerbestaubsauger (as known over here in DE).
I love the Nilfisk Extreme, I would like to have the purple Extreme Free version of it as well (anything bucket-shaped, it is all fine with me).

Nice vacs overall, they all have the good features of northern vac technology (nice hose couplers = triple or quadruple notch hose couplers, aluminum wands, exhaust filters, the Lux spirit is all over, automatic brushes and whatever you have). I love the northern / Viking style, Good thinking above high wattage, that is what it is all about. Good inventions can save the planet.)

Find an admirer here.
