Some vacuum bags came my way today but I can't identify them.

They are a nice disposable sorta fabric-like bag, marked Type F. There is a cardboard collar where it fits onto an inlet tube. The collar has a couple of holes in it that indicate a rotational lock-down. They measure approx. 8x23 inches. The inlet is about 4/5 of the way from the bottom.

Your help in ID'ing these is appreciated.

Are they Kirby Style F bags by any chance? Generic ones perhaps if they haven't got Kirby printed on them? A picture of them would be useful though... :)

Many thanks. Yes, the mounting tab on the picture I found of some Riccar/Simplicity bags looks like these that I have.

Wow, these are pretty large bags, aren't they? I don't think I have anything that they will fit. Wait a minute, so long as the inlet size is the same, I can cut the bottom off and have my wife sew it to a shorter length. These are so fabric-like, that should work. Waste not, want not.

For 37 years, my wife has been kind enough to do various little sewing jobs for me. Just part of our division of labor. I've tried to master the sewing machine, so far without much success. It's so difficult for me to keep thread coming from both directions at the same time. That bobbin thread has always given me trouble.

Many thanks again.
