Type A bags

And after the talk of Concepts in older forum, it got me to thinking about the bags. Any input on style of bags guys? I know that the allergen bags are available, I still have old stock genuine Hoover bags that came with my machine, but feel like one ply, nothing like the ones on the Miele of course. Feelings on if these better?? bags help? Thanks, d.

The older genuine Hoover bags seem better than the new genuine Hoover bags to me anyway. The ol' green genuine's seem to filter almost as well as the allergen bags, and they don't seem to loose airflow as quickly IMO with the exception of the synthetic ones of corse.I havn't tried any of the "new" basic allergen bags.
Back in the 90's/2000's when I had Elite's and the PowerDrive(type Z but I would substitute with A in a pinch)Id buy Genuine Hoover or MicroFresh. If I put a generic type A I noticed it would clog much more quickly as does the new TTI white Genuine non allergen bags.
I had a genuine new TTI bag in my Celeb and even with no power nozzle it wasnt even 1/4 full before it lost suction I found some of the old type H and I can fill it 1/2 to 3/4 before it looses a considerable amount of suction.
Well theres my 2 cents lol.

Well, I appreciate your 2 cents, I would guess my bags are 20 years old, still in the plastic bag, are they safe? Hate to have one burst on me.

I would think they are safe, But to be sure I would put a few staples at the top and bottom just to reenforce the glue incase of dry rot, or just chance it. They are probably fine. I have a few Kenmore canister bags that are at least 15yrs and every now and then one comes unglued at the rear seam wich can't be stapled but for old Hoover bags Ive only had an issue with type H once or twice at the seam.

I have some Hoover type C bags that are so old they have glue AND staples probably from around 1983 ish and I havn't had a problem with those either so far.

If you are really concerned about filtration a HEPA Y bag will fit easly, but it's quite small compared to the A. I find the A allergen great though.
