long-time happy ownerMy family bought a new Tri-Star in 1985 + it outcleaned the other vacs until the motor burned out after 22 yrs of HEAVY USE. Got out ALL dirt the Lux left behind then used Turbotool rug washer + no hair on shampooer. We even used it as a garage vac (when cleaning out/replacing shop vac filter) NOT EVEN MY RIDGID WD-1670 blower/vac can match the Tri-Star's power!
