2c. I still need to sort a small spring bag and black cord, as well as a black repro replacement for the nice condition grey headlight trim. Runs quite well, I cut off and taped over the headlight wire as it was -really- dangerous and I can't get the fan off to replace the wire. The old belt cap was quite warped but I found a near mint one in the box! Came with most of the tools and all of the paperwork. Not a great pic, once I take it to the buffing wheel this weekend I'll post more as well as the contents of the rather haggard box.

Congrats on your find! The box can be mended with various bits of cardboard sheets (like what T-shirts are folded on at the store) and packaging paste you can source on Amazon to help strengthen it.

Score!

That will clean up well. Cool to have the box, too!

I once had one that looked just like that but with the switch in the handle. So that would have been a 2R. Original bag, too. The handle grip rubber had disintegrated so I just wrapped the metal with black electrical tape.

Really nice find indeed!
I guess I should put an xC model on my 'desired' list!
There is just something charming about those really old vacs.
Keep us posted on the resto progress...

BTW, would this model have the hole in the armature for locking it while removing the fan? The 505 did but not sure on these older models..

Sure miss the 'Good Housekeeping' seal of approval on things nowdays....
