This is a follow-up on a thread in the Contemporary forum, linked below.
The new Kirby Tile and Grout cleaning kit seems nice, but obviously won't work with older pre-Generation models. Kirby sells their grout cleaner and pre-treatment by itself, and you can brush your floors manually if you don't have their new tile brush roll.
What I am very curious about is, whether you can spray your tile with the pre-treat and cleaning solutions, then brush/scrub your tile with the Miracle Head (or floor buffer) instead? Since there may be wet or damp particulates when doing this, it would be wise to not use this with the bag, but with the shampoo tank instead. If you just leave the suds tank empty, and don't connect the hose or anything to it, plus the miracle head... would this work?
I'm thinking that although the miracle head brushes are all approximately the same length, you could possibly work parallel to your grout lines to get the brushing action down in there to clean it out.. then the sponge filter catches any dry or damp crud that gets sucked up in the process.
Has anyone tried this? Is this a poor idea?
I actually do not own a Miracle Head yet. Eventually, I'm installing hardwood in my house, but it will be engineered, and not 100% solid wood, so I do not plan on using any kind of floor waxing system, since engineered hardwood manufacturers recommend you don't do that... but if this idea will work, and work well, for cleaning tile, I might go ahead and get a Miracle head to try this out.
