Thrift Store Find-Windsor SMP 14

Found this machine at my local Goodwill for $8.00. I have seen these at several different schools, banks hospitals, etc. I remember one in all blue at my elementary school in the 90's. The style of this is very similar to my Sebo Essential G1 and it even uses the same bags. All it needed was the filter cleaned due to the bag being torn towards the top. The filter on this machine really impressed me even with all of the buildup the motor compartment was spotless. Installed a new bag and it runs perfectly. I know these machines are expensive so the $8.00 price tag was a steal... Anyone else own or have any info on this vacuum? I would love to know how to date the serial number.

The Windsor vacuums are made by SEBO in Germany strictly for the U.S. commercial market. These are excellent machines and last a long time for a plastic vacuum.

I have came across a lot of commercial vacs here lately and this is one of my favorites. It surely will last me forever since I have so many vacs I rotate to use

Ah yes, the Versa-Matic Plus!

Great machines. This is a more updated version of the original Versa-Matic that Sebo made for Windsor in the late 70's / early 80's. They're probably the sturdiest of the 2 motor uprights out there. I never saw one that hadn't already been through some kind of abuse, yet was still performing well.

Fantastic machines

I have a Versamatic, got it at a garage sale for $2. Poor thing had been beat to pulp but a little bit of TLC brought it back to life. Amazing how these can just keep going and going and going. There is a lot of clever engineering in the machines. I didn't fully appreciate my Versamatic until I used it in daily commercial service at the last hotel I worked at. The original Sebo 360 was designed from the ground up to be a commercial machine and it really shows when you use it in a commercial environment.

I'll post a pic of mine when I get a change so you can see the difference between the regular and the plus. I believe yours has a different bag and filter set up as well as having the built in extension wand for the hose. The plus model should also have built in attachments in the back, mine just have a clip on the front of main handle for one attachment. Usually the crevice tool comes standard with it.
