Dinky little burg maybe 1000 souls. A little twinglebird told me I should scoot on over this morning. Sunny warm 80 F, feels like 88F. Perfect day for a drive with the windows down.

Printed out the Thorndale Streetmap so as not to miss any sidestreets. Yeah, like that could happen even if ya blinked on purpose. :-)

That's the CN Rail line to the left. There's a factory back there where they make that imitation marble for shower enclosures, countertops and stuff. Shipped all over the continent via that rail spur. I had them custom pour my bathroom's wall slabs a few years back.

But here in another pile - spot the Electrolux Floor polisher/carpet shampooer. Of course it came home. 3 sets of brushes, the splash guard and the base pan. Whoo Hoo! Matches the CanLux AP280 in brown.

Over here, a Eureka upright with the detachable portable canister in excellent shape. These always reminded me of a dog sledge with a papoose strapped to the back. Actually quite versatile as together it is a fine wide brushroll upright with that swirly static cling dusting wand, snap out the papoose & hose and sling it over your shoulder for portable cleaning.

Also a cute little Whirlpool dehumidifyer that will see service down the basement this summer.

As foretolden in my Attic Vacuum Lounge thread I wanted to find some cheap carpet remnants of different types for vacuum play. What's cheaper than FREE!!!

At the same time tho they do have to be pleasing to the eye or extremely ugly.

How about pale lavender?

Um, no thanks. Just a smidge too girly...

How about something that resembles Saturday Night Cinnamon Barf Rolls or skillfully arranged Cow Patties.? Nope, not ugly enough. LOL too bad tho, cause it would be hard to spot dirt on it...but then that defeats the purpose of a Vacuum Playroom, eh?

Ah, this is more like it.

Fresh pale minty green, a happy colour and lots of it. 4 rolls, enough to cover 12x12. Also picked up the same amount in a light gray.

There's that Lux B-28 and an Eatons zigzag sewing machine and a huge fishing tackle box stuffed with sewing needs.

Over on the other side, more carpet rolls, the Whirlpool and wonder of wonders, a RIVAL Crock Pot just like the one I blew up last week! Heating up as we speak...

Laying over the top obscurring all rearward vision are two 9x12 woven area covers in great shape, if the pattern colours are less than stylish. About to roll them out and see what's they really look like.

Geez, we just had a power outage and a massive Hailstorm with 1" hail. As soon as the light's flickered I rushed outside to put the car in the garage - I had a warning twingle. Good thing, too as I can see the cars on the street have roof & hood dents. Now it's raining kittens & puppies. :-)

First thing this morning I went to the lumber yard to get 3 sheets of plywood sliced in to 2x8 sections. The only way I can get them up the narrow stairwell.

Because Friday Night 5 of us from work moved that plastic wrapped virtually new Queensize Serta Pillowtop out of the attic, out on the balcony, over the railing to waiting hands on the garage roof and thence plopped on to the Roof of Teddi's SUV, the reverse of how it had to be delivered 4 years ago...

The story so far...

Over a few blocks to Lorna's second floor up a capacious stairwell to replace her sagging 18 year old marriage mattress to surprise husband Vance when he got home at midnight from Toronto - we've been planning this for a few weeks. Her husband, who is an Opera Singer/Actor, doesn't know one end of a screwdriver from a hammer, btw. When he put the bedframe together he used only one bolt in each corner. The bed has been swaying & squawking alarmingly for 5 years now. So, I ran home, got some bolts and tightened that f*ck*r right up. Then Lorna brought out her 'vacuum' to clean up...and I burst out laughing sadly. It's one of those small orange Hoover Podvacs. Her husband didn't bother to get the correct RS30 baglets and jammed an S bag inside, folding it over in such a way as to block the inlet, not that the cardboard square even comes close to fitting the bracket. So, Lorna has been vacuuming in vain. The hose was stuffed and the vac's interior was thickly insulated with dustbuny felt. Arrrrrgh.

Back home one more time for the correct bags & new filter pads and then she was ruefully amazed to find out how not half bad the vacuum is now. It actually picks up debris!!! LOL

I will be choosing a larger canister vacuum with a PN from the collection for Lorna's needs wall to wall upstairs and wood floors down. The Hoover Powermax Supreme 850 or the Kenmore Whispertone - both have on board tools and a parking PN slot. Lorna's the tall gorgeous one grinning in pink. Next is Gerry, colleague whom I run the Department with, and the round woman is Teddi Peddle. Teddi's husband's name is Terry and yes, they do have matching name embroidered bowling jackets. :-)

That is correct - Terry and Teddi Peddle.

Mattress installed, Lorna, Angela and Gerry give it the bounce & recoil test. Lorna will report her findings on Monday (wink)

Al in all, a fine productive day. Still raining. I have a show to work tonight and then rainy Sunday off to install more floorboards where the matress used to cover and arrange carpet parts around the perimeter of the 1930's center panel.

Re: Holstein Cow table plant stand thingy...

Well, Brian, I don't really have back yard to display it in, it sure as hell ain't going in the front yard and I've already selected furniture for the vacuum Lounge Opening Ceremonies.

Yup, I made up that new word 'foretolden'. It sounded so olde timey and just right. LOL

Oops, almost forgt being how it so forgettable - a Dirt Devil swivel caster upright was rescued as well.
