This It the top Panasonic upright available in the United States and a very powerful machine. I love the side opening bag door and the way it seals. I believe this underdog is probably Better Than the Miele s7 as far as quality of construction with equal performance.

About as good as any powerful upright with brush turn off. It also comes with a floor tool that can be used with the extension wands.

Miele vs Panasonic

You can see the bag access is much better on the Panasonic the Miele has a much better headlight.

In my opinion the performance is equal.

They are very close on performance with bettor edge cleaning going to the Panasonic.

Even better than this Panasonic is the red Kenmore Intuition Direct Drive upright. It's a similar design because it is made for Sears by Panasonic, but it has that great beltless brush roll which offers a gentle setting for delicate rugs. Consumer Reports gave high marks to that red Kenmore.

I think you may get better attachments with the Miele S7 though....

The kenmore is cheaply made

The Kenmore is not half as good as the Panasonic, The Kenmore is cheaply made I checked them out . Do not forget Sears gives Panasonic a target price and Panasonic builds to that target price and cost factor. When Panasonic builds their own top of the line vacuum they build to make the best vacuum they know how.

I am also not a fan of the Kenmore brush roll, not Agressive enough and $130 to replace. The Miele tools are better but it does you little good when the bag door is broken or the hose is bad and so on. The S7 is not built to the same standards as the Miele canister line.

Consumer Reports test something for a couple days and cost is their main driver in recommendations.

See this cheap plastic brush roll used in the Kenmore. This is old technology that Panasonic no longer uses. They use superior wooden brush rolls with double the bristles in their top of the line vacuums.

Now see this Panasonic, clean & well designed. Japanese companies take great pride the products with their name on them. So the answer is No, a Top Kenmore is not the same quality as a Top Panasonic even though they are built by Panasonic.
