Yes, in 2003 or 2 "Dirt Devil" decided to partner with swiffer to make the sweep & vac, and yes these were recalled lol.

I use to have this exact make and model. But they probably sold it to swiffer and now swiffer is the sole company that owns this design. I say this because swiffer has exact same machine with a few minor tweeks and its been around for as long as I can think of.
