The Jurisko???

Hi Electrolux Fans,

Having nothing better to do (God help me), I was idly cruising eBay to see what Lux XXX's were out there this morning and found this curious listing (link below).

Now, I don't believe for a moment that this thing is "rare", or even more unlikely, a "prototype model", but I am intrigued by the side plates. They are obviously not the standard Electrolux parts or anything that I've ever seen before, but they seem to be made specifically to fit the XXX, and they attach with screws in some bizarre fashion. I'm used to seeing bojack wheels, carts, switches, etc. fashioned by someone in his shop, but formed steel parts like this must have been made by a more sophisticated manufacturing operation. Who would bother and why? Why would someone attach a sticker calling this thing "The Jurisko"? It's not of earth-shaking importance but it puzzles me.

Also, the seller claims that there is a serial number of "123456K" but doesn't show any pictures of it, so I can't give it much credibility. All in all, it looks like a standard XXX from the late 40's with aftermarket leatherette covering, cord, hose, etc., and those peculiar side plates. What do y'all think?

Or a prop for a play or movie. That would be my guess.

Those "jurisko" covers appear to be applied over the existing Electrolux side rails. The word "The" is odd, the "T" is out of line with the rest of the letters. It's possible that a vac shop 'rebuilt' it, it doesn't appear to have been professionally done - like Metropolitan did.

To me, personally, it's been so bastardized that it has very little value. Maybe the switch and motor, if their good, could be salvaged.
