This may be a surprize-but the "humble" Riccar "Superlite"Got more SAND out of my carpets than anyting elese-next would be the Royals and Kirbys.Seriously-when I was using the Riccar I could hear the sand wooshing up the bag fill tube-and you feel the bag-its a sandbag.and to top it off when I first moved into my house I am in now-the former owners must not have vacuumed much or tracked in lots of the sandy dirt we have here.I used my Royal 4000 metal upright-the 10A one-and I had to replace the bag twice-filled up 2 and a half bags of foot smelly sand.Picked up about 2 bags worth in a Royal metal canister.Brought both vacs with me as "Move in vacuuming"The amount of sand I get now is much less.
