So last Thursday I showed my sister what I wanted for Christmas and when she got it for me I was very thrilled and now I got my late Christmas present today and I’m pretty excited that I got this collectible vacuum. Luxkid1980, you’re gonna be thrilled on what I got!

My sister got me a Hoover Portable!!! Model 2110 and this is the standard model and it’s in pretty great shape, all it needs is a good clean up and that’s all! I find these vacuums very interesting and a unique modern design back then. Not sure what year the Hoover Portable 2110 was made but I’m guessing 60’s. What do you think gottahaveahoover?

Check this out, it’s almost has the complete attachments! It’s missing the crevice tool but not to worry! I have a spare one with the correct brown color at storage for now! And luckily it has a bag inside as well. I ordered new ones not too long ago.

Gabriel, looks like "Sister Santa" took care of you

for being such a good boy all year long, wink! Really nice. I can imagine the ads back then for this vacuum. "Stores practically anywhere, even under the bed!"My mom had an electric portable hair dryer from that era that looked a lot like your vacuum, lol. Good addition to your collection! Billy

Hey

Gives new meaning to pack your bags. I've seen ibasic from UK do a review and it's a power House an ingenious. I wonder if might mite was made to try to match Hoover.

Gabriel,

Great gift! Congratulations!
That's the first vacuum that I remember from childhood.
I was lucky enough to find a complete turquoisey colored one at a Salvation Army store a while back, for $10.
But the gold one is extra special to me, since that's exactly like Mom used to have.
I agree. I was quite impressed with the suction.
It even does a good job on our braided rugs despite being straight suction.
Also, regarding the weight.
It seems that it was promoted as being light and "portable".
But, after using plastic-bodied Electroluxes for so long, I was pretty surprised by how heavy the Hoover was when I picked it up in the store!

Thanks JustJunque! Hey I was wondering what year the Portable model 2110 was in? I couldn’t find much information about this model. Thanks.

I found a newspaper ad from December 14, 1967 that features the Portable 2110.https://newspaperarchive.com/lowell-sun-dec-14-1967-p-2/
