I was thinking back to September 2001, Charles Miller and Roger Proehl came to Lenoir to spend the week with me, I think they came Saturday and Mike Rogers came Sunday or Monday, Anyway, My birthday is Sept 3, and Mike brought me this beautiful C-4 1957 Compact,we got up early Tuesday the 11th and drove to Asheville to go junking and to tour the Biltmore house,I commented that it was strange that there was virtually no one on the streets downtown, well, we soon went into a store and learned what had happened, we went to Myrtle Beach wednesday and stayed the rest of the week, it was a strange sight to be swimming in the ocean and to see fighter jets overhead, but they were patrolling the coastline, everytime I use this Compact my mind goes back , what a bad time, but what good friends to be with.

The C-4

Was the only Compact to have the hose go in at such an angle, it really does work great, but its not as stable as the normal Compacts.

BRIGHT!

Orange grill and blower cover release button, truly straight out of the 50s.

The Famous..

Compact Floor brush and rug tool, IMHO the best floor brush ever invented.

The original

Interstate "onion skin" bags, they are kind of like tracing paper, very thin.
