So I combined the two: the chassis, hood and handle of the old one with the bag, cord and motor of the new one!

A reference-photo of the wiring while I was disconnecting the footswitch...

This was the part I was most concerned about: the original bag needed a wash, but naturally, I was afraid of damaging it.

To show you why, look at how thin the material is! It's thinner even than a US Lark bag - it's like a filmy, silky kind of material. They fall to pieces if you even dare to look at them!

But...I went ahead and very cautiously washed it in cool water...

...then left it to air-dry in the sun...

...and it turned out quite well!
