I bought a Super J on Ebay a couple weeks ago. It worked great but I thought I'd take it apart and clean it. I labeled the fans, wires etc so I can put them back the correct way. It worked fine for a while but yesterday I noticed I was not getting good suction and I was getting a burning smell. I took it apart and didn't see anything wrong. I'm wondering if I put the fans back in wrong or something. Does anybody have any picture diagrams or schematics on the super J or do I have to just replace the motor?

Thanks

Tom

Sounds like the armature might have developed a short. If this is the case you will have to get a good used armature or look for another motor. When I get them I test the armature and replace the fan bearing and carbon brushes then sell the rebuilt motor for $50.00. Run the motor and see if there is sparks or a flair coming from the carbons if this is happening that armature is bad.

I'll check it out, thanks. Do you know of a good place where I can order a new one or a goos used one? I'll check Ebay.
