Suitable bearing?

Is this a suitable bearing for use in a Hoover Convertible? I'm thinking it would be of better quality and quieter than the Hoover part. Is this likely to be the case?

It may be suitable...

But how are you going to replace it? Armature shaft size, and the way the bearing is installed may be prohibitive to using just any old bearing. The Convertible had two different bearings that were used over the years. Up until the early 80s, they were unsealed bearings. In the mid 80's (Decade 80), they went to a sealed bearing and a different armature shaft size.

Well it's for a U4423 convertible. Doesn't the bearing simply come out of the retainer once the armature is removed?

So how do I remove the bearing retainer then? It looks to be riveted on and I'm not quite sure how to proceed.
