very nice-i want to fix mine up someday but needs rebristled brush roll and a nice bag. mine a strange model plate having no serial #. maybe it was restored before and no serial # stamped after?

The manual looks to be a 102 or 105 manual.

Your 541 is an early 541 since the brushroll has six sets of bristles on each side of the pulley. The later 541s had 5 sets of bristles on one side of the pulley and 7 sets of bristles on the other side of the pulley. The 6/6 is on the right and the 5/7 is center and left.

bristle tuft numbers.

I did not know that the number of tufts varied in the production run, must go and check my prized 541 which I restored seven years ago now. I made mine up from two machines. 541/3 are rare models over here. Wonderful that you have both a good furniture guard and a great original santeen bag. Most were replaced by the regular black bags when the cleaners were taken in for rebuild at hoover at perivale.

Lovely machine, very good job done.

Great Job Kyle!

You always do excellent restoration work! Wish mine had an original bag like yours, mine has a later black Hoover replacement bag. I have the same attachment set with mine. My 541 is my oldest Hoover.
