Storage Unit

I decided with where I am now with my collecting, I needed to get a storage unit. And I decided to go with a climate controlled one because I was concerned about heat and humidity.

Mostly put my recent curb finds there so far. I'm slowly clearing out boxes and NOS stuff also that will be going over there, not all of it vacuum related.

Currently in the unit is:
Rainbow SE
Kenmore Progressive canister
Kenmore Lime canister (NIB)
Shark (LOL)

This is going to be a good space to store stuff until I get a house. As soon as I get a house, hopefully I can get rid of the storage unit. It is pricey, but it is very nice to have for me at the moment. I was planning to rent a bigger unit as that was all that was available, but having second thoughts about it due to the cost. Then this size unit came up which was half the price, so I just went for it while it was open and available.

I'm glad to get this stuff out of the way for now. The vacuums I moved in there may be coming out and going back as I get time to do cleanups/servicing on them. I've been finding so many lately that I haven't been able to do any of this yet.

Aww, rats!!

Be sure to deploy several rat trap boxes (like 4m one in each corner) and keep them where they can easily be accessed and monitored.
Despite all good intentions (if any) from the company owner, those critters can still get in from the smallest opening and can cause major damage and inconvenience.
Better to not catch anything than to have rat damage to anything.

I can sure use extra storage now but would prefer not to go down that rabbit hole, lol...

Yeah, I got rid of a storage unit when I bought my house in 2014, then in 2017 I had to rent another one because of all the crap that was being sent my way from my parents' house as they were downsizing. The worst part is it's all stuff to which I have no emotional attachment, but it's worth enough that I can't just dump it. And that's the insidious trap of storage units. It's really easy over time to spend more on one than the stuff inside it is worth. My dad saw his toy collection as an asset but it's rapidly becoming a liability. I need to have an auction but I'm not sure of all the logistics.
