Hi Guys,

Should have asked this before, rather than after but here goes:

Is it beneficial, after shampooing to rinse with a tank of clean, hot water without detergent?

I have done this and the water was cleaner and the carpet appeared a little softer, but was it really a waste of time.

Cheers

The manual on my Hoover Spin-Scrub says you can rinse, but it isn't necessary.

I have rinsed, adding a cup of white vinigar to the rinse water. It helps remove the "browning" in the traffice areas and does seem to not re-soil as quickly.

I always rinse to remove any soap still in the carpet. When you empty the tank I can almost always see suds from the rinse. The water is still dirty too, so I'm happy I removed it. You rinse your clothes, why not your carpet?
