Hey All! Well, on a trip to visit my Grandparents, I decided to check out a junk stand that I hadn't been to before. Now, we've all seen Montgomery Wards that are Eurekas, but I've never seen one made like a Westinghouse, till now. Check it out.

What can I say Toby....

When you told me about this, I couldn't wait to see it! You've sure got the touch. What made you stop at this junk stand??? This Signature must have been calling you. BTW, the "R" wheels have not arrived but I expect them shortly!

GREAT VACUUM!!!

Rick

Oh Toby, I remember those well. Westinghouse also made major appliances for Wards for many years as well. Great finds. Funny that they both have about the same color hose. That has to be a replacement on the lighter colored machine. Terry

smelling salts

After I wake from the faint, may I proceed to Georgia to visit that beautiful Westinghouse pair? What a find!!

Toby

I have never seen that machine. It is truly a rare bird. Your car must have vac radar for sure. I know it has a good home and you should have some fun with it. I'll be in touch with you to coordinate a time when I can come up to bring you your Nilfisk cord. Bill did a good job on transferring the plug end onto a new cord. That way, you can at least run the Nilfisk. The old cord was shot and all the insulation on the wiring was cracked and brittle, causing shorts all over the place.

That truly is a stunning find. Never knew it existed. I've always wanted one of the Westinghouse machines - never even seen one in person.

Nice Find, Toby!

I've never seen the Wards version before either, but have seen this Westinghouse in other colors, auch as light tan (almost beige) and turquoise. I'd love to get my hands on one someday! Congrats,
Jeff

Oooohhhhh, I always wondered if the Westinghouse came in turquoise. I too would love to have one for my "Visions in Turquoise" collection.

Well played, you stinker Alan but just a thought.

Did everyone else's pulse quicken at Alan's playful suggestion?

And yet...I have a remembrance that Charles once mentioned the possibility of a yellow Roll-Easy, wasn't it Charles? Something someone else mentioned to you in all hopeful sincerity and innocence?

Well, perhaps they were confused by the similarity of the Westinghouse to the GE and what they actually saw was this yellow Wards Signature?

Just guessing here and casting no aspersions, truly. But that could explain how such a rumor begins and grows, right?

Ferinstance, I'm forever finding baby blue'turquoise-y Eureka tools & Vibra-beat nozzles and ham-shaped blue Eureka tool caddies...and yet I've yet to see a picture of a two-tone baby blue Eureka Mobil-Aire 1010 'ham' or Roto-Matic. Is/was there one?

Oh Mercy, if only it isn't a rumor but in fact there are a rainbow assortment of Roll-Easys out there to be found. Alas, I fear not. :-(

What a tangled web we weave

When we but practice to deceive. One of my favorite lines from a Count Duckula cartoon involves the butler saying something about casting aspersions-or paving stones. Who here didn't want to crack me over the noggin for that little jape?

Probably the three series of Roll-Easies were so exclusive, they didn't want to dull the impact by offering them to places like Penney's, Western Auto, Sears, but all the department store offerings weren't cheap trash by any means.
