Some New Forum Software Updates and Wish List...

Hi Everyone, last week a member on automaticwasher.org asked if I could change to posting system so if you don't feel the need to preview your post, you could just post it immediately. So I've just updated the system with that change (see image at bottom with the new button). This change is for upgraded members only as non-upgraded members don't have an edit ability, so it's best to have a preview for non-upgraded members.

The other change I've made is for all members, upgraded or not. The system will no longer give you an error message if you are uploading a picture but want to leave the message box blank. For new threads you still have to include a thread title, but you will be able to post a picture without any text included with it if you so desire.

Please let me know if you find anything odd in posting to the forum that might be a bug related to these changes.

Now I'd like to open this thread up as a wish list to hear anything you all might like to see feature wise added to the Forum software. Maybe there is a feature on another forum you use that you'd like to see here as well, or maybe there is something you think might enhance the forum. Obviously I only have so much time to work on this so please take this as nothing more than a wish-list, but if I see something that I think would be really helpful, and wont cause a complete software re-write to implement, I'll add it my future enhancement list.

I do know that there is a desire to be able to load more than one picture per posting, and I've been looking into the feasibility of that, so I'd be interested to hear anything else that might be nice to have.

I like that change, having a blank picture is a great idea, most of the time it was only filler typed anyway!

somthing Id love to see/use

is that I would love to be able to upload multiple pictures to 1 reply, I find it takes a while constantly waiting for one picture to upload before uploading another, this way it does not ruin your momentum when producing a thread and someone comments on it (this is a small thing but it really annoys me for some reason) I think it makes the thread look untidy.

Multiple picture posting,It would make picture threads so much easier, but then how would we caption a photograph?


 


Robert,I loved this new feature throughout the course of my Daily vacuum cleaner shenanigans, I still like having the option to preview in the event you are also posting a picture.


 


Beko-I have no idea what you're trying to say about photos, are you saying that your computer's browser automatically fills the picture and you would like a blank one? or you would like pictures to be auto-filled? auto-filling pictures would become pointless and could get annoying, especially in the event people constantly "showing off" there prized gems (I'm not pointing fingers!),


Is that not the point of a profile picture?
