I am almost tempted to buy one. A new american made canister with powerhead for $227. Something seems a bit off on that. The same seller is selling others for over $100 more. Is this a scam? Do they even still make the Metropolitan Turbo 2000? I'd LOVE a spanking new American made canister at such a low price, but I am really hesitant about this. Any thoughts?

I believe I found that vac you're talking about....did you read the customer review? According to them, the power nozzle didn't come with the vacuum and they STILL hadn't received it even though the seller said they would send one. They also stated they didn't think it had a connection for a power nozzle. I just bought a new stainless professional series metro with a power nozzle from Newegg, but it was $455. Still seems like a very nice vacuum though!

I did see that!

I just wanted to see what others thought. I think I'll pass on a Metropolitan, at least for now. I'll buy something new from Tacony if I want american-made.

Contact the seller and ask a LOT of questions. Verify the power nozzle comes with it, and to seal the deal, make them describe how the electrical connection on the hose connects to the vacuum. As you can see in the photo above of the Metro I purchased, the electrical hookup is on top of the vacuum where a cord plugs into. If they can't accurately describe the power port, chances may be good that even if they sent you a power nozzle, it won't work anyway....

The Turbo 2000 has the PN as an option, the difference between the Turbo 2000 and the stainless one in the picture is just that. Both machines are available with or without a PN.

I have 3 different Metro handvacs and an older OmniVac and I really like all of them, very well made and they work well, the OmniVac is very powerful and quiet for what it is, excellent vacuum I think.
