I just caught onto this myself..
I was really wanting to buy the Simplicity 7 series (7850) only to find out that it has been discontinued, and replaced by an upgraded premium Symmetry 
I'm guessing that the Riccar 8955 will also be retired soon as well, as they are replacing it with an upgraded Vibrance, model R20UP.
These machines from what I heard had a long run, (20 years) and were Riccar's and Simplicity's most popular models.
These did have the twin fan motor, and I just don't see how they were able to recreate this same vacuum into one of their already existing base models.
Does anybody have any of these newer models ?
How do they compare to the predecessor vacs?
