Silverado, dirty fans?

So guys my beloved old girl, still looks very new, but has a bit of a coast down shudder/ hum for some time? My vac guy says it sounds like fans, maybe dirty not bearing or wear. My hands and fingers, just not taking much apart anymore, so crazy?? me, I felt, what could I do? I opened up the exhaust port and blew into it with shop vac and hose, with the bag out of the unit.Nothing. Used the Miele to suck out from the intake of the lux for a bit. Bag door open on lux exhaust open trigger it to run, dust cloud out exhaust when I turned it on.Shudder seems almost gone. Am I crazy?

Of course, I was not vacuuming with it, just running it a minute or two.

No, you're not crazy. Dirt build-up on fans will cause the fans to become unbalanced & vibrate & not allow the motor to produce as much airflow & suction as it normally would. I had a bagged Eureka Maxima given to me a couple of years back by a neighbor....they were dumb enough to not realize it needed a bag & then wondered why the vacuum was clogged, noisy & had hardly any power after a month. I took it apart, took a vacuum with a blower, blew out the fan, & TONS of dust came out!! And when I re-assembled it & turned it on to try it out....voila, problem solved!

So, enjoy your Electrolux Silverado to clean with now that you have your problem solved.
