A random pictorial thread on another interest of mine, coffee makers. Please post and lets see on the community how you take your java!

This is my baby. My Delonghi Cappuccino Perfecta

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: medium;">I boiled this dry. It WAS a great percolator......</span>

This is my coffee brewer of choice, a Technivorm K741. It's old fashioned and lacks some modern features such as auto shut-off and drip stop, and that's exactly why I bought it. I specifically didn't want something cheap and plasticky, with bits to go wrong and lots of little gubbins to clean. Just something that brews good coffee quickly and red hot, which this does.

The retro styling is another plus, and doesn't look out of place in my modern kitchen. I believe these first appeared in the mid 60s or thereabouts, and they have changed very little since. Still handmade in The Netherlands with a full metal body and a copper heating element. Not cheap, but it's made the way things used to be and has proven to be worth every single penny given the build quality and the amount of use it gets.

For 'people',

I use my U.S. mad Sunbeam percolator. I have an urn, usually used for parties or post -funeral dinners, (sadly, lots of those). I also have about 7 -10 HOOVERS, BIG SURPRISE, I know. I never drink coffee, although, I'm told I MAKE good coffee.
I had a friend who was going through a messy divorce, stay here for a while. He asked if he could bring a coffeemaker. I told him he could invite Juan Valdez, if he wanted. I LOVE the smell of coffee. I'd wake up and smell that coffee. It reminded me of when my parents were both alive. It was a bit scary and creepy. Too bad I'm not a coffee guy.

Percs and a Bunn

These are my vintage percolators, I don't often use them. The next pic is my Bunn Commercial coffee monster that I use primarily!

Bunn Monster

I have one too!

Always loved this design. This one happens to require 240 volts. Tank heats up really quick! Miss the hot water spigot the old one had though. This one is plumbed to a water line like the last one, so there's no reason I couldn't add it I suppose...

I am a heavy coffee drinker (hopelessly addicted to the stuff), however I only use a cheap modern BOL Sabichi coffee maker! I should really buy a nice vintage Hoover percolater - and you know what, someday I will. But for now, this is what I'm using for my brew:

No you wont Jamie, unless you by one from the US and get a step down transformer to run it. However there are plenty of models from Swan, Russell Hobbs & Morphy Richards which will do just as well

That is precisely what I was proposing I do - sorry, I should have been more specific.
