Hello, everyone! I have a vacuum cleaner that I never knew existed. It is a Sharp Twin Energy. Anyways, the machine will not turn on at all. I made sure the cord was intact, and I got mad because I tripped over my cat and I kicked it. I was so stupid!!!!! But then, I tried to turn it on again, and it finally turned on! Any ideas?

Great vacuum.

Sharp made some very nice vacuums. So sad they are all discontinued now. I would think dirty or worn carbon brushes. Very likely they are dirty and sticking.

Found the problem!!!

Okay, I just contacted a vacuum shop located in Spencer and the repairm an said on the back was a tiny, tiny hole that was a RESET switch. Did not know that!!!! :P I just have to reset it and it should work.

A fine modern upright. One of the earliest versions was top-rated by Consumer Reports when it was brought to market in the US in the early / mid 1990's. Two outstanding features of this vac, if I remember correctly, were the cord hooks placed very high on the handle (no bending needed) and the fact that it claimed to be "Library Quiet".

Enjoy your new toy!

Oh yeah!!

Ohhhh! Actually, the sticker that says " Library Quiet" is still on it. Even though it doesn't even run, it is quiet as a mouse in a church building.

Great vac!

I mainly like Electrolux, but bought a Sharp Twin Energy brand new about 20 years ago. Still runs great. Have to take the brush roll apart every now and then to get hair build up out of the end where the bearings are so the brush roll will stop when it is switched from rug mode to bare floor mode though. It is important to change the belt out every 6 months or so since the belts tend to stretch out easily since they are not a geared belt like and Electrolux power nozzle.
