Hi there! I believe this is the best place for me to ask this question. I just wanted to get your feedback or opinion on this cleaning accessory we are currently developing, the “Flashlight-Holder Vacuum Cleaner Attachment”. This product is a first-of-its-kind vacuum cleaner accessory that holds a flashlight, to provide light directly at the point of use. Please see this 4 minute video to see what this accessory is all about:

The accessory holds a flashlight, to provide a hands-free beam of light exactly where it is needed. As someone who is engaged with cleaning services/ housekeeping or homemaking, would you consider using this kind of accessory? Or would you stick to what you are using right now? Your feedback will be very much appreciated. If you want to know more about the product, just visit http://dupreehouse.com/ Thanks!

I think some members have experimented with ideas. I think its a good idea provided that the attachment is light enough to sit on the suction tube and not all brands make the same measurement so it is best to have a flash light holder that can be adjusted to size to meet the width of the suction tube, or any other additional design on a vacuum cleaner, consider that uprights also have free space on the handle to have a flashlight added.

As you will see from my own set of photos, I've already fashioned a standard flash light onto a suction tube via SEBO's clip for a dust brush. It allows a degree of height adjustability and provides an easy solution.

I personally love the idea, would be especially good for cleaning in the car or other poorly lit areas when using the attachments. Miele has a hose handle on some models that has a built in LED flashlight and so far the customers have absolutely loved it, I think its a very good idea myself.

Hi,

Thanks for the interest on our product. This unique product is specifically designed for use with all of your “hand-held” vacuum attachments.

Actually, this is not yet available in the market. We need people/backers that can help us to start this kind of project.

This sort of interesting-I have a flashlight collection-I could be considered a "Flashoholic"-so this thread would be--Vac collectors meet flashoholics.Like the idea, though. Now if I could get an adaptor so my Polarion light would fit-and put the green dust filter on the Polarion light so you can SEE the dust floating!!

It uses a durable “micro-bungee cord” to hold a flashlight that provides perfect lighting. This accessory can be used alone, or with any other vacuum attachments like crevices tools, dusting tools and other vacuum cleaner extensions or wands.

Clever idea-like the flashlight holder/adaptor for vacuum hoses and wands.A simple but "brilliant" idea-now to get one or some.Good use for some of my smaller flashlights-would like to use the Polarion-but that is a big handheld HID light. It would be clumsy and heavy on a vacuum hose or wand.I have a light--the Powertac "Chamelian"That can generate multi colors-the green setting might be good for dust spotting. On the flashlight forums they mention green colors as good for spotting dust-the right wavelength. And the UV light function would be interesting, too. The Polarionn would indeed show up the dust becuase of its brightness. Many times brighter than small lights.think of it as a handheld HID headlight like used on cars.I have many HID type lights in my collection.LEDS are catching up in brightness, though. And they don't need a warm up time.HID lights need about 30-45 sec to warm up to color and brightness.

In all honesty cable-ties might work just fine, even rubber bands for that matter. I can only speak for myself on this, but after changing the position of the light for different tasks a few times, moving those cable-ties around would get pretty annoying real quick. If you want the perfect balance between convenience, functionality and reliability, this is the way to go. Besides, this attachment looks cool! Thank you for your input.
