Hey you lot,

I wonder if any of you can help me with my Sebo?

I have a G1 which I had to import from Germany because they don't sell them here in England, because of this Sebo UK won't help me with my problem. Although they have sold me parts.

Anyway, my issue is there is a rumble and vibration, and the motor randomly gets pulled back and forward... Now I could go on and on trying to explain but I have a Video I made, I'll post a link to it so you can watch that and you'll see exactly what it's doing... If nobody minds?

I am well and truly stumped on this one, I've replaced most things!

Thank you all for any help and advice you can give me, maybe some of you have had this issue! :)

Why won't Sebo UK help you? They should have a European warranty!
I think that is disgusting!
Someone on here will be able to help you :-)

Parwaz, yeah I know you lol.

And thanks for replying all of you, this Forum is strange I had no notifications haha.

But yes I bought it from Germany and it has NO warranty and Sebo UK won't help me even though it broke when it was about 4 months old. They'll service it for £70 but that's just a service, not fixing it.

I hope somebody on here either knows what it is or has had the same issue and can point me in the right direction lol.

Come to think of it I have noticed a vibrating rumbling noise on my X4 I thought that was just part of the noise it makes :-)

I'm very sorry to hear this. As a jesture of good will and for the sake of Sebos reputation I think Sebo UK should repair this for you. I know you imported it from Germany but its only 4 months old!
Id write to the MD of Sebo and see if there's anything they can do. I'd also write to the Sebo MD in Germany and see if he can arrange a repair in the UK.

See Marcus, I dont think SEBO UK should foot the bill. Its like the Apple Macbook I have. I bought it in the UK. I wouldn't expect it to be repaired if I was visiting family in Dubai, America or elsewhere. Fair enough if SEBO were a British brand, but they're not.

RustySkull - have you contacted SEBO in Germany, or at least the seller? I would suggest that if you do you only send the motor part back i.e. the bottom part and not the whole vacuum. That way, whoever looks at it can use the top half from other X models etc.

Sebo-Fan, I have contacted the shop I bought it from but they appeared to speak no English, so I phoned them and it was clear English was a problem haha.

Sebo Germany I haven't contacted, truth is I don't want to, I want to find out what the issue is, I'll fix it and BOOM! done, over with and I can use it again lol.

Well I know they speak English in Germany if you contact SEBO in Germany via their email page on the site. I know what you mean though - it would be good to diagnose the problem rather than sending it back. Mine doesn't shut off though, it just rumbles intermittently but as bad as I can feel it through the handle.

Im beginning to wonder if this is one reason to why SEBO were reluctant to sell the G1 series in the UK...I dont suffer the same problem with my Felix.

A manufacturers guarantee is in addition to a customers statutory rights in consumer law. This guarantee is completely optional and can pretty much exclude what it likes. The only real stipulation used to be that where a guarantee is offered, it has to be honoured, subject to the right conditions being met. Often a guarantee is only valid within the countries where it states it is so.

As a matter of goodwill, I think Sebo could do a lot worse that sort this out. But the only thing they stand to gain from it is the potential to encourage the owner to buy Sebo again next time he or she needs a new cleaner. There is no knowing when or if they will do so, so I suppose you could say that Sebo couldn't care less either way. Their call.

I have the same intermittent vibration rumbling thing on my X4 Nar so maybe it's a common problem.

Hmm, mine isn't intermittent it's all the time, until the "check Brush" light comes on and then it shuts off.

I'm not bothered about rights or Guarantees to be honest I just want to be able to use it lol.
I've spoken to Engineers at Sebo and they apparently haven't seen anything like this before. And want me to pay to send it to them to look at it...

A few issues there.
1. I trust NOBODY and won't let anyone work on my stuff, including cars etc.. (Hence why I do all my own work)
2. I won't pay to have stuff done I can do myself.
3. what can they do that I can't? They will take it apart and replace bits and then charge me, the same as if I buy parts and change them... But it'll be cheaper if I do it lol.

I'm going to replace the belts if I can finally find some, as they're the only things I haven't changed bar the motor. ;) Update video coming in the next few weeks!

True but they will change the part that needs changing first :-)
You could try changing the belts but I'm not sure that will solve the problem.
Uve changed the most likely parts the bearing and the sensor.
If the motor is moving around in its mounting excessively this could be the problem?
Can't think of anything else.:-(
