I am newbie here so I hope I am posting this to the right forum. I have an older Hoover Encore Supreme upright vac (model U4261-940) and recently had to replace the belt and beater bar on it. Well in the process I misplaced the two screws that hold on the beater bar cover on the bottom plate of the machine. Would anyone here know what size screws I need to replace these with or have two I could buy.

I have already tried looking up the schematic for the machine and it doesn't even show those two screws, even though any directions your read for changing the belt refers to them and says to remove them. The Hoover company site can't help me either as they have the same schematic. I am hoping someone here can help me because the machine really works well and I hate not being able to use it just because of two screws.

Thanks

You don't need screws... There are holes for screws, but there weren't, or shouldn't have been any in your machine. The bottom plate just snaps on. I believe there may have been screws in commercial machines, however.

Thank You

Boy do I feel stupid now! All that time and effort spent searching for screws that didn't even exist. I noticed that it snapped on but I saw the two screw holes and just knew there had to have been some I had taken out. Well I guess I'll start the old girl up now and see how she runs with her new brush roller and belt. Thanks again.
