My old neighbor called me the other day and said she was cleaning out her husbands old office and found an old Filter Queen that I was welcome too. I told her I'd gladly take it. Well today my dad finally picked it up for me and I was so surprised! I was expecting an old 31 or 33, but it's a 1999 Empress! It is complete with all of the attachments except the sliding brush for the upholstery tool. This was purchased on January 21, 1999 at the Henry Company in Highland.
The issues: The power nozzle was left in water so the screws were rusted and I stripped them when trying to get them out, I got one screw, but not the other. So I had to pry the bottom plate off, causing a tiny bit of the hood to crack, but it's not noticeable. One of the brushroll end caps is all rusted and messed up, so the brushroll does not spin. The power nozzle motor also has a slight bearing noise. I did replace the brushroll and bottom plate for now though. I'd like to find another power nozzle for it eventually. But the main vacuum is perfect! It just needs a good cleaning.
I have not gotten a good vacuum in a couple of weeks, so it was a blessing in disguise that I didn't!
