Well guys the time has come for me to say goodbye. Mother has gotten to where she needs care, as she is 87 years old and So I feel that I must help her as much as I can. Thank you for the privelege of being able to share in the interest of vacuum cleaners, and I'm glad I could attend a vacuum collection convention. Needless to say I'm sure this will be somewhat of a shock but I feel I must help Mother.

Sincerely,
Nathan. L. Thomas

While I really hate to see you leave here, I commend you for stepping away to take care of your mother. I am an only child and as long as there's breath in me I will take care of my parents as long as possible! I wish you all the best and if you are around a computer, drop me an email! Take care Nathan and I certainly hope you continue to collect vacs! If I can ever be of assistance, please let me know!

I fully understand where you are coming from.I'm there with my mom.I am pretty much her driver, care giver, you name it and It's me.I take care of her home and property, plus my own and work a 40 hour job behind the hairstyling chair. So,I know there isnt much time. But,I make it work somehow.I guess thats why I sleep so well,I'm tired.A word of advice.Don't feel guilty and steal some time for your self;you will need it.Always have a back up plans and someone who you trust to care for mom when you need a get away.Always know you'll be welcome back to the club anytime you want.Keep in contact...Michael

You are embarking on an arduous and yet rewarding journey. Spend great quality time with your Mom. Listen to her stories, create lasting memories, and never forget the love you share.

God Bless,

Richard

Nathan:

I think what you are doing for your mother is wonderful, and you are right that you need to consider it a full-time responsibility.

But my background in senior care leads me to say that I hope you will find some ways to have a little time for yourself. It's very important to take care of yourself while you're taking care of your mother. In addition to being part of the senior care industry, I personally took care of someone in my home for five years, and while it certainly had its rewards, it was also pretty draining.

Automaticwasher.org and Vacuumland were my lifeline to humanity; I was in a caregiving situation that was 24/7/365, no time off, no days out, no anything.

Please do what you reasonably can to keep that from happening to you. Again, this is a great thing you're doing, and I wish you the best. I also hope you'll still be working with vacuums!
