What do you think of Sanyo vacuums? They seem to be fairly decent products.

And Maytag vacuums...didn't know they existed. I have the All-Terrain, which is a Dual V with auto-rinse and usage on hard-wood flooring. Maytag made the Dual V, then they gave it to Hoover, and changed the color pallette.

Limited Experience but...

I have a Sanyo transformax it's a nice little thing for it's size it's powerful yet fairly quiet the turbo brush does fine for surface litter, really with a few improvements i feel it could have been a very successful design

The Sanyo Transformax was the top-rated stick vac in Consumer Reports test results which were published just when it debuted in the stores. I think we are talking early 1990's....

The Sanyo power nozzle canister which is now sold as the Hoover Duros is also quite well-rated by Consumer Reports....

Had no idea you could buy a Maytag floor care product in North America!!!!! I thought this was just in the UK! :-)

I remember when Home Depot sold the Maytag version of the Hoover Fusion and the Duros. I always thought that was really neat.

Well, I went to Home Depot when I was 10 years old in 2007, and they had Maytag vacuums. Can you imagine how ironic is that, if they were only sold in the UK?

I have a bagless compact Sanyo canister (labeled Kenmore Let's Clean). It's small, but it has a lot of suction and is very easy to use. It seems well made. The dust compartment is small, but I mainly use it to clean the hard floors, so it's not a big deal.

Hi William - I think one of the reasons you may not see Sanyo vacuums any more is because Panasonic bought Sanyo a few years ago and they already have an extensive set of vacuum lines all over the world - including producing the better Sears Kenmore vacs. Panasonic has retained the Sanyo brand name and is using it on some home entertainment products like televisions, so we may yet see the name Sanyo on a Panasonic vac somewhere in the world one day! :-)
