Saniway Mark IV

I tried watching a Youtube video but it was not clear how to open the vacuum. I don't want to damage anything and I can not figure out how to open the top.

Help?

Also, I noticed the owner has a Owner's Manual. I would love a copy.

The square plastic piece that has the word Saniway is actually a spring loaded lid release. Just press it in at the same time you lift up on the handle.

I was just signing on to say I discovered that. I took it apart as it needed a good wiping down. I carefully disposed of the exhaust baffling, filtering material and will replace it with some suitable material from my filter fabric tub.

The Lamb motor has a brief bearing noise when winding down, so I will remove it and see what I can do. The finned hard plastic motor top grate may be a challenge to remove.


Tom, do you have a copy of the User's Manual? Or perhaps a scan of the pages?

Also folks, in the other Saniway Mark IV, was a fluorescent orange sicker with:

The phone number has no area code.

Google Maps shows a boarded up strip of shops including a For Goodness Sakes Thrift Store....disconnected phone number.

One down, one to go!

Finally finished the lesser complete Saniway. The hose had tape around the "handle" area, several types of tape used over time. The red hose itself was somewhat stiff, but I was going use it. It was only when I poured baking soda and super strength vinegar in it, I discovered a slit half way down. So I harvested the ends and replaced the hose with a donor. Will need to wait for the donor hose to dry out. After washing the rubber cloth bag gasket, I "refreshed it with a very thin layer of black automotive gasket goo. It did not have a rubber stopper at the exhaust port, but this morning I adapted a rubber cane or crutch tip to fit perfectly. I think I have a set of wands and floor tools that will fit, but really, I will not be using them at the same time to worry about that.

Next up, Saniway #2. Has the replacement hose already, which is fine with me. Has most if not all attachments, plus 4 original Royal brand
bags.

Hopefully this one will be a breeze to work on.
