New here, so first will say hello and thank you to anyone who may post suggestions and advice!

Just bought a Sanitaire SC899 that works well but has a burned out light bulb. First experience with this vac. Thought that the plastic light bulb cover would just pop off to replace the bulb, but it doesn't seem to come off that way. Just would like to ask how to access the area for light bulb replacement? Wonder if the whole upper unit has to be disassembled from underneath the vac to access the light bulb? It should be simple to replace the bulb, but maybe it isn't! Thanks for any advice that is offered. I do appreciate it. Know nothing about these vacs except that they're FAR better than any of those junk plastic imported things that are spoon fed to the public these days. Really looking forward to using the light on this one!! Again, thanks for your help!!

Sanitaire

All great vacs but with different hoods on different models and times.First look carefully around edges of plastic light lens. Some have small notches for flat screwdriver blade. If so pry outward gently and slowly until you are sure of how it fits.It is also simple to remove hood. With most remove height knob.Turn over and you will have 2 screws or 2 spring clips at center sides. If clips pull and release with needle nose pliers.
