Sanitaire Contractor Series Score!

I stopped in to the mall and decided to visit a Coldwater Creek (womens clothing store)that was going out of business. They said they were selling everything including fixtures. So I asked if they had vacuums and much to my surprise they had a Perfect (Sanitaire Knock Off). Being me I haggled on price so she dropped the price AND threw in the boxed up Contractor Series that she said wasnt working. So I got TWO Sanitaires for one! All that was wrong with it (other than the aftermarket Perfect bag being on it) was that a section of wiring in the Quick Disconnect plug had gone bad, so I removed the Quick Connect and wired the good cord into the handle. Works like new! I may sell it just becasue I have to many Sanitaires anyway!

I remember when,

My local and beloved K-Mart was going out of business (About 2 years ago). I didn't think to ask about vacuums, all i saw was a $50 Dirt-Devil behind the counter! That store was awesome back in the day! they had a pharmacy AND a food-court!

Kmart

Sadly, it seems that many Kmart stores are closing. The Kmart store in my home town is closing July 27th. The store has been in the same location for many years. I remember going in there as a child. Sears is not doing well.

Sears Holdings isn't doing well because they never really changed anything. All this motion, but at the heart of it all, it's the same merchandise that nobody was buying before. And they have discontinued so many products that they were the go-to place for. They should have aimed at being a better Target, not a worse Wal-Mart.

It was sad wandering that Kmart as it sat on death row. I bought a fish night-light (for the bathroom, I'm a big boy now!

), a surge protector, some plastic boxes and a light-bulb! I still have my receipt, and will have it forever! It stated on the receipt, 'we are sorry to announce the closing of this Kmart. We look forward to your business at (whatever other Kmart is in my area, forgot where it is!), thank you for shopping with us'. So sad! All the fun times I spent at that Kmart, how it simply sits empty now.
