SANITAIRE COMMERCIAL CATALOG

Does anyone know what they mean by their 2-motor uprights mentioned in the catalog? Are they just referring to a bypass style with a suction motor and a brush-roll motor? Any info would be great!

The SC91xx have two separate motors, one for the main suction and one to power the brushroll, that way you get maximum performance from the motor without having to lose power spinning the brushroll, it's basically taking the cannister and PN and melding them together into an upright... :)

Plus the SC91xx series has a VGIII-derivative brushroll too, so should be decent cleaners, not as good at their F&G/ST models, but still should be good... :)

And over here in the UK, we get one known as the Z9120A, pretty much identical, aside from the colour, sold by Electrolux (the original one), I wouldn't mind getting one, but haven't gotten round to it yet... :)

I like sanitaire uprights !!!!!

The more sanitaire's I get and resell the more respect I have for their simple design and cleaning performance.their metal brush roll's are great for carpet cleaning and brush strips are inexpensive.Easy to work on and very reliable machines

I love their direct air uprights...

... So simple, but so durable and effective.

Has anyone compared the performance of the SC91xx series to the venerable Windsor Versamatic? They seem to be competing models of the same general design.

I don't think the Electrolux or Sanitaire Z/SC91xx series would do any better than what is basically a Sebo in disguise, but I don't know, never tried either machine properly (well, I did have a quick test of a Z9120a a while ago, but that was a very brief test on a market stall in Blackburn's old market hall)...

I have both the sebo/windsor 360,370 and the electrolux /sani Z9120a . Its much better than the sebo machines. It is a little heavier but it feels better for it if you know what I mean. it sertainly feels more powerfull and also feels better built too . it has not given us any trouble so far and is now used by my dad in the cleaning company he took over from me.

Its wide air paths don't get clogged with paperclips and office crap  like the sebo's do. Its suction on the floor  is not as good as the direct air sani's but its quieter and that means alot when you are cleaning offices. Its suction is much better than any of the other twin motor uprights. I have all of them , nilfisk tennat karcher victor clarke advance wap truvox wetrock lindhuas the lot this beats them hands down

the sebo's are not that well built any more and there current motors ( dommel) tend to overheat in the cramped space they have them in.

I would take this machine over any of the twin motor commercial uprights out there any day . when you are vacuuming +- 500sqm of carpet a day its a pleasure to use.

They really thought about the end user with this machine. I recon its one of the best machines to come out of Electrolux stable ever.

Wow! Better than the Versamatic Plus?

That must be one good vac. I have the Versamatic and Versamatic Plus and those are good machines. Why aren't these Sanitaire dual motors more widely used? Maybe one to keep an eye out for.

I've only heard one person describe the Windsors as lightweight. Everyone else thinks they're quite heavy. I know what you mean about the solidity of extra weight, though. The Sanitaire must be pretty heavy to lug around if they're heavier than the Windsors.

Thanks for the catalog man. I briefly saw this in hard copy at a friend's house who owns a cleaning company. I'm glad to have a chance to sit down and look at it.

I totally agree with the statement "Extended Motor Life...reengineered...result in a motor life of over double that of our previous long-life version." I love the new motors!

Extended motor life

I truthfully see no difference between both motors besides the newer one's bearing plate is plastic and that the carbon brushes are not as exposed anymore. I iwll have to get a new motor and try it out. but I could warm up to the sound of the newer motor as well. sounds like a beefed up 5 amp blender motor! I suppose that is good if you like the pleasant sound of a blender motor! Might also do well in an older eureka to make it more powerful as well as make it sound like it has a blender motor but a beefed up one at that!

And if it has double the life then holly cow they would last a lifetime then! If you know how much motor life those metal motors had! I guess sanitaire wants to go broke because their newer line of commercial vacuums are a life time vacuum! So there for they wont have as many in for repairs any more!

When I rebuilt my Sanitaire S661, I replaced the older 7 amp motor with the newer 7 amp motor because the old one was aggravating me with its bent armature and bad bearings from the previous owner. The combination of those two things really made it scream, more than the older motors typically should, so I decided I would give the new motor a shot.

I love it! It has identical performance to the older motor, but it sounds SO MUCH more pleasant to use, for it no longer "screams" like the older ones used to, even when they were in top operating condition. Installing it was a cinch, and it came with a brand new clear fan and new belt pully pre-installed along with the rubber seal for the base. The carbons being protected is a big plus, and I really like the new plastic bearing cover better because it seems to offer better protection for the upper bearing than the older motor had for its. These two modifications make the new motor not only longer lasting but also I think much more pleasant to use while maintaining exactly the same cleaning performance. I have had mine for going on 2 years and have had zero problems with it.

Newer motor

Hmm seems to really be a great motor for what I see it going for. $35 most places! I know what bad bearings sound like in those metal motors. Very retched sounding! Almost like something out of a horror movie! but as long as my metal motor is perfectly fine with just a couple minor parts needed then it will do just fine!
