Hey I found parts to finish off my royal 98 royal 145 and my 1977 3 amp royal. I also am getting a 888 nozzle with belt lifter. I am getting 3 adaptors for hoses.
The question is what is a correct screw or what holds old 3 wheel royal vacuum in place. I probably won't find right part but one that looks correct is best I can do.

Hi Les,

Not quite sure what you're referring to here. If you're talking about the height adjustor for the third wheel, I've seen some with the same adjustment screw and knob as the regular 4 wheel models, but also some with a large wing type screw. If you're talking about the screw for mounting the wheel assembly to the housing, it's just a regular machine screw with a couple washers and a hex nut. Same for the one that mounts the wheel to the yoke. Hope this helps,
Jeff

Hey

It's talking about rear wheel assembly. If that's all it is that's quite simple. Thanks just not many close up pictures of rear third wheel so it's hard to tell. Thanks for the info.

Hey Les, I have a question for you. You mentioned you were also getting a model 888 nozzle with belt lifter and 3 adapters for hoses. I was wondering if the adapters are the standard Royal adapters, or if they are the kind used for the 888 (also Electro-Hygiene 980 and Galaxie Prestige 990)? If they are the adapters for the 888 would you be interested in selling one? I have an Electro-Hygiene 980 and if I had the proper adapter I could use my 903 attachments with it. Hope to hear back from you soon. If you'd rather discuss it privately my email is [email protected].
Here's a pic of my 980. Thank you in advance,
Jeff

Jeff

I emailed you. The 3 adaptors we're regular adaptors. I did win eBay auction and waiting for package. It's in brand new condition. I have other info in email.
Those who have never seen the holy Grail of adaptors.

It is to bad the Kirby jumped on Royal for copying Kirby's hose adapter.

Hoover and Eureka shared the same pan type hose converter. I for one like the ability remove the floor nozzle to use the hose. Fewer things to get hung up on. The down side. The older Kirby's will tip over.

Difference

Kirby and royal vacuums are very similar. Hoover and eureka motors spin in opposite directions. The only similarity was adaptor worked in both. I do wish they could have mended fences.
