Most royal bags can be made into shakeout quite easily. You simply take off f& and g adaptor attached with wire.
The bags all connect to exhaust. Hooking to exhaust makes them he easiest to convert.

What the heck? A couple months ago I looked on ebay and there were a dozen of those orange commercial shake out bags for sale. AND there were a handful of generic cloth bags too. Now there's nothing. Well, you could always stitch together your own bag.
This looks like the 5 amp duke series made in late 80s to early 90s.
I just got done polishing a vacuum with this bag. It's a 7.5 amp version and it's top fill type B bags.

His machine looks like this 655 here, except it has the exact same 4.5 amp motor as your 1982 Royal 880. And instead of the red Adjust-O-Rite plate, it would have had a textured gray plain belt cover when it was new in 1987.
