Today,  I was doing my weekly scan of 2 thrift stores,  etc. on my Thursday trip to Philly.  I saw a gray Riccar vacuum.  It looked BRAND new..has the "Made in U.S.A. sticker.  Could have gotten it for $60.00.  I passed because I didn't know anyone who'd want it and disn't want to "build up" an arsenal of vacuums of another species.

Although the Riccar is a wonderful vacuum, it's harder to pull the trigger at $60 than at say $10. I bought lightweight Riccars for both my Mom and Mother-in-law at the factory store. $60 is a bargain IF you're in the market for the vacuum. $60 is a LOT for a paper weight. Hopefully someone who really needs a good vacuum will buy that vacuum at a Walmart vacuum price.

It's nice that you actually see nice vacuums at your thrift stores. Usually I see beat up bagless vacuums that look like they should have been sent to the dumpster...
