Riccar / ecopure bags

Hey Guys, i've read so much hype about HEPA cloth bags, just wondering if using the paper ecopure or RICCAR paper bags are good enough? I dont have indoor allergies, so thats not the issue. I just was wondering if the Riccar/Ecopure paper bags clog easier or do they maintain good air flow? I know the HEPA cloth bags do maintain more air flow but just wondering if anyone uses the paper bags or any mirco lined bag religously? Any thoughts or comments would be helpful. BTW the vacuum i'd be using them in is the Riccar 8955. I know i've read various comments on how its better to remove the blue paper bag that comes with the machine and replace it with the HEPA bag. Does it make that big a difference? or is it more of a personal preference?

The dealer here who sells Simplicity machines replace the paper bags that came in the vacuum with Filtrete ones and encourages customers to continue using the Filtrete bags-even if you aren't allergenic-the Filtrete bags are better for the machine-less overheating of motors from easily clogged paper,and better filtration-keeps the fine dust out of the motor and motor fans.If the dust accumilates in the fans-causes the motor to run off balance-making it noisey and hard on the bearings.AND--While helping the dealer unpack and set up some Simplicity uprights-glad we checked the bag compartment-the factory bag fell off the bagholder.Probably happened during shipment.ALWAYS check the bag in a new cleaner before using it!I am not allergenic-I use the Cloth-Filtrete bags in any machine that I can.They are SO much better!And since you can pack more dirt into them-they end up actually being cheaper.Paper bags clog before they actually get full-esp with fine dirt and dust.-so you have to change the paper bag before its really filled.

I agree with Tolivac's answer completely. The HEPA cloth bags are very slow to clog with fine dust. If nothing else, your rugs will be cleaner as the airflow is not diminished as the bag fills. Also, the 8955 is black. The inside bag compartment is black. If you use the paper bags, you'll see fine white dust all over the compartment and the inside of the bag door. The white HEPA bags are very inexpensive ($2 per bag) compared to the performance and motor protection you receive from them.
