Hi Guys
Just hit the BIN on this beauty- yes its a lot of ££ for a 23-24 year old Kirby but the chances of my coming across a nicer example are pretty remote I think. Now to follow my rules something has to go to pay for it and make space. What is in line for Ebay you ask? The answer is its 18 year younger sibling- yup I'm replacing a 2007 Sentria with this!. Why you may ask, well my MIL has a L2 shes had from new and after using it properly for the 1st time recently I came to these conclusions.
1. Much lighter- the Tech Drive sure adds weight!
2. Much nicer and less "clunky" to use, particually in smaller areas.
3. Not really any harder to push.
4. Looks nicer!!.
Anyone else prefer the pre G Series machines for any of the above reasons or others?
Seamus.

There's something about simplicity

I hear what you're saying. I've got a G-Six and a Heritage. The added bulk of the Tech Drive does come close to cancelling out its benefit, but both are heavy, clunky machines that are best suited for large expanses of open floor space. For tight spaces--and steps--I still revert back to my ever faithful Electrolux 1205. Proper tool for the job and all that.

The other arguable advantage of a "pre-G" Kirby is that it's a simpler machine. There's just less that can go wrong. Sure, you're giving up some convenience and a really cool feature, but you're also gaining a certain degree of reliability and ease of repair and maintenance.

That said, I'm not getting rid of any of the three vacs in my stable. Not sure about adding anything, either. The stable is pretty--well--stable.

I actually

Like the G series a little better i often refer to my G6 as the best deep cleaner in my collection i feel that it's a little stronger than my other Kirbys Sure the tech drive adds a little weight and bulk but it's not really an issue for me. I've seen a few G3s that had bad drives on them but they seem to have improved the quality of it since then.
