Mid 2014 I completed restoration of a Kirby 509, so I thought. A couple of months ago I found and installed a new motor that sounds and runs like new and an original metal brush roll. Then I found some original rubber wheels in good shape and replaced the new black plastic ones. Last night I installed a new replica bag in place of the new black one from Kirby. Did this model originally have washers on the wheels? If so I will add them and I think it's really done!

I don't know about the 509, but both of my 505s had washers on the (original) wheels. I believe my 508 did too but I can't remember for sure.

Hi Mike.

<span style="font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">You've got a great Kirby 509. Don't get finger prints on the nicely polished aluminium

<span style="font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">Yeah the 505s and most 508s had washers on the wheels still.</span>
