Your Electrolux hose fits the 1205, Golden Jubilee, Olympia One, Silverado deluxe, 1453 special models, Diamond Jubilee, Marquise, Grand Marquise, Legacy Ultralux, Ultralux LX and Commemorative Edition. All The squared metal body machines essentially.
The hose handle is removable and reusable but the fitting it fits into that is mounted to the hose material itself is not.
To remove the hose handle you must do so in this order ONLY or breakage will occur.
1. Remove the two screws on the underside.
2. Carefully unlatch the outer plastic around the little plug in end from it’s grooves with a gentle prying motion.
3. While pushing slightly toward the center of the handle slide the lower portion of the plastic around the plug in end off of it essentially pulling it apart from the main part of the handle.
4. As you pull that end out the opposite end will now slide out as it has two tabs that will come out.
5. The main hose handle should now slide off the permanently mounted hose cuff.
Installation is reverse but you have to make sure the hose handle stays all the way on the cuff and also you have to make sure the edges of the underside strip get installed into the grooves properly before finally snapping in the edges around the little plug.
A genuine Electrolux hose handle is NOT interchangeable with a generic hose of the same type as while some generic hose handles look almost identical but usually have a power switch, it is constructed slightly differently and the Electrolux handle will not work with the generic cuff on the generic hoses.
Changing everything right down to the rubber hose is nearly impossible as parts are fastened by pressure clamping machinery made specifically for this purpose. It clamps onto the hose from the metal part placed inside the hose material, then the machine goes in the hose end and applies outward pressure all around the metal part essentially bending it to clamp a tight fit holding the hose between it and the outside of the fitting. To undo this, you basically have to destroy the inner part has been my experience. I’ve only taken apart a non electric one so don’t know much and I imagine the electrics would be much more complicated. You’ll see how advanced just the swivel system is once you take the hose handle off the cuff and you see the copper runners and the contacts on the underside of the small strip part.
If your hose handle is in good shape, you can save it, they sell for about $20 on eBay as they are more expensive from Aerus Electrolux so always good to have a spare in case something happens to yours.
Also, I’ve never seen bulk rubber ELECTRIC vacuum cleaner hose for sale anywhere, even eBay.
